Adult Weekend

Every now and then Joe and I need a little time with other adults.  I don't remember any other time we have done this, so apparently its been awhile or never.  I have never been away from Irelyn for more than a day I believe.  Still haven't. Joe has, but I have not.  This past weekend we went to Milwaukee to see some friends and go to a Brewer game.  We had a a great time!  I realized it really is necessary for many reasons to get out and do things like that every now and then.  It was also great to come home and see my baby!!  (except for the tornado)
We are traveling again this weekend WITH Irelyn. It still requires alot of packing for one little person, but as she gets older and older the packing gets easier and doesn't require as much.  Have I mentioned how much I LOVE not having bottles and formula!!
Anyway, looking forward to a great weekend and will let you know how it goes next week!

Wednesday Randoms- Carpet and Parade

Today was supposed to be a nice little "me" day.  That didn't happen.

It is Wednesday, my typical day off from work to spend with Irelyn.  This Wednesday I decided she would spend the day at daycare since we were getting carpet installed downstairs.  I figured I could get alot done and just take a little time to relax while they installed it.  I can't remember the last time I was really alone. I hoped to get a lot of cleaning and organizing done. I woke up with a bad headache as it was.  Then, we had quite a few problems with the carpet and the carpet people.  To put it simply-  It sucked.  But, the bedrooms are done now and the rest will now not get done on Monday.  On the bright side, the bedrooms look really nice.
Once I calmed down and took a little rest, my headache got better.  I needed to get out for awhile so Joe meet me for lunch.  Then, retail therapy :).  My favorite kind of therapy.

Here is Irelyn's future room with the new paint and carpet!

And this room that finally now feels like a room and not a storage area.

To back track a little this past weekend while Joe was working on painting, moving furniture, and ripping out carpet I took Irelyn to her Great-Grandma's in Westby for the Sytendae Mai parade.  It is an annual tradition.  We had a great time this year.  Last year she was less than 2 months old and slept through the parade.  It was fun to see what a difference a year makes.  She watched every float go by, waved at the princesses, danced to the bands, and laughed at the horses.  It was really stinken cute :).

So popular.  Got lots of candy, beads, and fish crackers!

Future Baby Prep

No we are not expecting...yet.

We are re-carpeting our downstairs which consists of 2 bedrooms and our family room.  Since we do plan to someday have another baby we are painting what will be Irelyn's room before the new carpet goes in.  I have hard a hard time deciding if I would just copy what she has now because I do love it or if I do something different.  Well, I have decided to change it some.  I will keep the black and white accents, but we are going to paint it purple instead of pink.  That way if we have another girl, maybe we won't have to paint her current room.

Here are a couple pictures of a room I found that I'm going to go off of...

What do you think??

Latest Professional Pics

Before I get to the super cute pictures I have to say I feel like I am finally getting the hang of cooking!! As most of you know I am a very picky eater and I am determined to not pass this on to Irelyn.  I purchased a new cook book a couple months ago and I really like it.  It plans out your week of meals, gives you the recipes and a weekly shopping list.  I told myself I would follow it whether I liked it or not, but overall most the recipes are things I would eat.  Well, I have cheated a little on my promise.  I have skipped a few meals, but as a small family we don't even need to make meals 5 days a week (as the book plans) because we have leftovers or we go somewhere or Joe is gone or what not.  Anyway, I normally screw up something whether I am cooking or baking, but tonight I finished a perfect stuffed manicotti dish!  It was delicious!

Okay so here is the little lady that I know you probably care about more than my cooking story :)....

These pics are from our 1 year session with Sarah Schultz Photography (www.sarahshultzphotography.com) and were taken on 3/24/11
CAKE!

No I will not stand still while you take my picture :)

And these I LOVE.  I wore this dress for my 1 year pictures as well (see below)

And here is Daddy tossing Irelyn.  I am standing behind her.  He threw her so high and had to run forward to catch her. (I feel like the picture caught her on the way back down) Needless to say I was terrified, but great picture!
These are just a few, this was a GREAT session with GREAT photographers and I love all (100+) of them.  So hard to decide what to get!
